Job summary

Qualified candidates hold a nursing license (RN/BSN or higher) and a Bachelor’s degree, with 3–5 years of CDI experience. CDIP/CCDS certification within six months is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Graduation from accredited School of Nursing; BSN or health-related degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years as a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist.
• CDIP or CCDS Certification required or obtained within six months.

Responsibilities

• Perform concurrent and retrospective clinical chart reviews to identify DRG discrepancies.
• Educate clinical staff on diagnosis clarification and documentation improvement.
• Collaborate with Coding and CDI teams to ensure accurate coding and CMS compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve documentation quality and patient safety indicators.
• Act as liaison between Coding and CDI to resolve DRG or code discrepancies.
• Engage with clinicians to improve documentation through queries and education.
