Job summary

TribalScale is seeking a Forward Deployed Agile Software Engineer in Washington, DC. You will embed with client and internal teams to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered software in production environments. Expect hands-on coding, customer interaction, and shaping technical decisions that impact real-world outcomes.

You’ll collaborate across stacks, implement robust AI harnesses, and help guide product delivery with a focus on reliability, security, and measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building production software, including AI-powered or agentic systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python/TypeScript or equivalent.
• Understanding of harness engineering for AI agents and control mechanisms.
• Experience with agent loops and multi-step workflows for coordinating tools and data.
• Familiarity with graph-based orchestration and state machines.

Responsibilities

• Understand client objectives and translate them into technical requirements and delivery plans.
• Design and build AI-enabled applications, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Engineer the harnesses around AI models, including prompts, tools, and context.
• Develop rapid prototypes and validate them with users and evaluations.
• Integrate solutions with client systems and cloud platforms.
