Job summary

C3 Risk & Insurance Services in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Claims Advocate to serve as the liaison between clients, claimants, producers, and carriers. You will manage all aspects of claims and strive for favorable outcomes.

The role requires 2+ years of claims experience, a valid P&C license or Claims Certification, strong math and communication skills, and a team-player attitude. Travel to client sites is required occasionally; remote work options available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of claims-related experience (General Liability, Auto or Property preferred).
• Active P&C license or Claims Certification.
• Strong math, written and oral communication skills; attention to detail.
• Team player with willingness to take on other duties.
• Proficiency with technology and quick to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of a claim: evaluate coverage, enter into agency system, prepare loss notice and report to carrier, follow up regularly, update insured and producer on status.
• Coordinate between client and insurer to discuss claims/coverage and assist with resolution of coverage issues; may involve on-site visits.
• Advocate for the client’s best interests during the claims process.
• Assist with needs assessments to establish reporting procedures and service commitments.
• Provide technical responses to client inquiries about claim matters and maintain claim files.
• Schedule and participate in formal claim reviews and client presentations as needed.
• Notify team of accounts with adverse claim history that may receive increased underwriting scrutiny.
• Identify trends in claims and help risk team facilitate resolution.
