Qualifications

• Registration as an Engineer-in-Training is required.

• Seven years of progressively responsible civil-engineering experience.
• ABET-accredited degree in civil engineering, or closely related field, may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis, up to four years.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• A resume and cover letter are required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Develops, administers, designs, and inspects capital improvement projects, which may include structures, culverts, retaining walls, traffic control devices, sanitary or storm sewer structures, water quality facilities, or other appurtenances.
• Studies, analyzes, and prepares engineering-related reports required by authorities; presents findings orally or in writing.
• Prepares and submits mitigation to the Environmental Official in traffic, slope stability, and stormwater.
• Reviews projects for compliance with Critical Areas regulations and writes project conditions.
• Prepares and reviews comprehensive engineering plans and cost estimates.
• Plans, coordinates, and manages development of systems for the County including contracts with consultants.
