Job summary

Jobot is seeking a civil litigation defense attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join our fully remote team. This role supports clients across civil defense matters, handling cases independently while collaborating with a nationwide group of lawyers.

Bar admission in Vermont and/or New Hampshire is required or Massachusetts waiver; multi-state admissions are a plus. You will manage files from filing through resolution, draft pleadings, take depositions, attend hearings, and

Qualifications

3+ years of civil litigation defense experience.
Experience in insurance defense, general liability, or similar matters.
Strong background in depositions, discovery, and motion practice.
Trial experience or meaningful trial exposure strongly preferred.
Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
Strong written and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolution.
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda.
Take and defend depositions.
Appear for hearings, conferences, mediations, and other proceedings (remote and in-person as needed).
Prepare cases for trial and assist with or lead trial efforts where applicable.
Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts.
Develop case strategy and analyze liability, damages, and risk exposure.
Collaborate with attorneys and staff in a remote team environment.
