Job summary

Jobot is recruiting a civil litigation defense attorney to join a fully remote team serving clients in civil defense matters. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience, demonstrates independence in managing a caseload, and can collaborate with a remote team on complex disputes.

Role focuses on defense work across general civil matters, with opportunities to handle depositions, hearings, and trials as they arise. Bar admissions in NH/VT are preferred or Massachusetts waiver.

Qualifications

• Trial experience or exposure strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear for hearings, conferences, mediations, and other proceedings (remote and in-person as needed).
• Prepare cases for trial and assist with or lead trial efforts where applicable.
• Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts.
• Develop case strategy and analyze liability, damages, and risk exposure.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff in a remote team environment.

Job Details

We are seeking a civil litigation defense attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join our fully remote litigation team. • Strong written and oral advocacy skills

Requirements

• Active bar admission in Vermont and/or New Hampshire, or ability to waive in Massachusetts bar admission strongly preferred
• Additional bar admissions are a significant plus
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple matters simultaneously
• Comfortable working in a fully remote environment
