Job summary

Jobot is seeking a civil litigation defense attorney to join its fully remote team. You will manage a caseload from inception through resolution, draft pleadings and motions, take depositions, and appear at hearings.

You will collaborate with a remote group of litigators and interact directly with clients and carriers. Requirements include 3+ years in civil litigation defense, a Connecticut Bar admission or ability to waive in, experience in insurance defense or general liability, and strong

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil litigation defense experience.
• Background in insurance defense, general liability, or comparable litigation work.
• Strong experience with deposition practice, discovery, and motion work.
• Trial experience or meaningful exposure to trial preparation strongly preferred.
• Ability to independently manage a full caseload in a remote setting.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear for hearings, conferences, mediations, and other proceedings (remote and in-person as required).
• Prepare matters for trial and assist with or lead trial efforts where applicable.
• Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts.
• Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and risk exposure.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff across a remote environment.
