Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Associate Attorney in California with 2+ years of civil litigation defense experience. The role involves handling labor and employment matters and/or personal injury defense, with responsibility across all stages of litigation.

Remote or hybrid work arrangement is available, with a strong emphasis on client service, research, writing, and advocacy. California Bar admission is required, JD preferred, and bonus eligibility may apply.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of civil litigation defense experience.
• Active California State Bar admission.
• Experience in labor & employment law and/or personal injury defense.
• Experience handling cases through discovery and other stages of litigation.
• Deposition, motion practice, and courtroom experience preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent communication and client-management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Responsibilities

• Handle civil defense matters across all stages of litigation.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to manage cases.
• Prepare and argue motions, conduct depositions, and participate in hearings.
• Perform legal research and draft memoranda and briefs.
• Maintain accurate case files and meet deadlines.
