Job summary

Translation Excellence, Inc. seeks Chinese Linguists for remote real-time translation support for federal and local law enforcement. You will translate and transcribe sensitive material, identify slang terms, and communicate vital information to agents.

You will meet strict production targets, maintain a voice library, and use specialized government tools. Responsibilities include 18–22 minutes of transcription per 8-hour day, strong MS Word/Excel skills, and the ability to pass a security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree AND three (3) years’ experiences in a professional setting OR Associate degree AND five (5) years’ experiences in a professional setting OR a High School Diploma AND seven (7) years of experience.
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Must have knowledge of source language colloquial terms and expressions.
• Must be able to obtain a law enforcement sensitive clearance
• Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Word and Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Listen to oral intercepts in English or Foreign language and provide verbal and written synopsis.
• Contribute to the master list of slang words and codes for the project.
• Maintain a voice library for the project duration.
• Transcribe and translate pertinent calls, audio files and electronic messages.
• Produce court-ready transcriptions and translations following the required format.
• Operate government-provided translation equipment and maintain productivity logs.
• Translate/transcribe 18–22 minutes of recorded conversation per 8-hour day.
• Possess strong computer skills in MS Word and Excel.
