Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Chief Engineer to own the end-to-end technical integrity of our program’s system landscape, including software, infrastructure, data, security, and operations. This remote role reports to enterprise leadership and requires enforcing engineering rigor and lifecycle discipline across CRM, ERP, and connected systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• Experience leading enterprise platforms and architecture.
• Strong knowledge of CRM/ERP platforms (Salesforce/Deltek Costpoint).
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, and release management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for the contract or program.
• Ensure all deliverables meet contractual requirements, SLAs, performance objectives, and compliance standards.
• Lead technical decision making for scope changes, risk mitigation, and issue resolution.
• Work directly with the Program Manager to document how scope changes impact contractual delivery; ensure clear and concise communications between all impacted stakeholders.
• Act as the senior technical interface with Program customers, supporting design reviews and executive briefings.
• Ensure tracking and transparency of technical work, schedule, reviews, and meetings.
• Set expectations for technical rigor, documentation quality, and engineering discipline across the program team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
