Job summary

Maximus seeks a Chief Engineer to own the end-to-end technical integrity of the program, overseeing software, infrastructure, networks, data, security, and operations to meet requirements and contractual obligations. This remote position requires strong leadership, enterprise architecture, and a proven track record in CRM/ERP platforms such as Salesforce and Deltek Costpoint.

You will lead engineering, DevSecOps, and platform modernization while guiding cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study.
12+ years of relevant professional experience.
Progressive experience in enterprise applications, CRM, ERP, software engineering, or platform engineering.
7+ years of technology leadership experience managing enterprise platforms, application portfolios, or technical teams.
Experience leading enterprise application strategy, architecture, engineering, integration, modernization, and operations.
Strong knowledge of enterprise CRM and ERP platforms, preferably Salesforce and/or Deltek Costpoint.
Experience with enterprise architecture, APIs, integration, DevSecOps, CI/CD, testing, and release management.
Strong understanding of security, identity, data governance, risk, compliance, resilience, and lifecycle management.
Experience managing technology budgets, licensing, vendors, professional services, and workforce planning.

Responsibilities

Serve as the overall technical authority for the contract or program, responsible for integrity, feasibility, and quality of all engineering solutions.
Ensure all technical deliverables meet contractual requirements, SLAs, performance objectives, and compliance standards.
Lead technical decision making for scope changes, risk mitigation, and issue resolution throughout the program lifecycle.
Work with the Program Manager to document how scope changes impact contractual delivery and communications.
Act as the senior technical interface with Program customers, supporting design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and exec briefings.
Ensure tracking and transparency of technical work, schedule, reviews, and meetings.
Set expectations for technical rigor, documentation quality, and engineering discipline across the program team.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
