Qualifications

• Fluency in Chaochow and English with cultural understanding.
• Ability to assess regional/accent differences to communicate with LEP.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking for accurate interpretation.
• Maintain neutrality and professionalism on calls, including sensitive topics.
• Education or work in language-related fields preferred.
• Must adapt to LanguageLine Systems technology enhancements.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US.
• US work authorization without visa sponsorship required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Post-offer background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to sessions and interpret in a friendly, professional manner.
• Render concepts accurately according to interpretation protocols.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and expressions.
• Maintain professional demeanor throughout sessions.
• Remain calm in emergencies and during high-stress calls.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions to meet expectations and avoid LEP contact without permission.
• Understand protocol for Medical, Insurance, Finance and Law industries.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.
• Handle calls that may be emotional or lengthy, with focus on service standards.
