Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking an Aerodynamics Expert (MSc. or PhD) for a contract role. The position is fully remote and global, with 10–40 hours per week. You will solve aerodynamic and CFD problems and translate requirements into solver-ready models.

Candidates should hold an advanced degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, have strong fluid mechanics knowledge, CFD experience, Python skills, and the ability to justify modeling choices and boundaries.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering with specialization.
• Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics and applied aerodynamics.
• Experience formulating and executing CFD or aerodynamic analyses.
• Proficiency in Python and relevant engineering tools or libraries.
• Ability to justify modeling assumptions and boundary conditions.

Responsibilities

• Solve and validate aerodynamic and fluid-dynamics problems.
• Translate physical requirements into computational models and solver-ready cases.
• Create or modify geometries, computational domains, and meshes.
• Define initial and boundary conditions, fluid properties, and solver settings.
• Run CFD and aerodynamic analysis workflows using command-line tools.
• Use Python to automate preprocessing, simulation, and validation tasks.
• Diagnose issues related to non-convergence and physically invalid outputs.
