Job summary

Martin's Point Health Care is seeking a Clinical Documentation Improvement Nurse to collaborate with health plans, delivery systems, and providers to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy for Medicare Advantage risk adjustment and HEDIS measures.

The role requires nursing leadership, extensive clinical experience, and expertise in coding and risk adjustment. The nurse will educate providers, analyze data, and drive process improvements while supporting regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• 5+ years of clinical experience, preferably geriatrics.
• 2 years of clinical coding experience with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to speak and present to small and large groups; willing to travel locally as needed.
• One or more licenses/certifications: CDI, CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P, CRC, CCS, CCS-P, CPMA.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate improvements to clinical documentation and coding accuracy through collaboration with stakeholders.
• Ensure accuracy of CMS submissions reflecting diagnoses and coded data.
• Provide education on quality and risk adjustment documentation and reporting.
• Identify trends and develop action plans to improve documentation quality and risk adjustment coding.
• Support HEDIS audits and maintain data and process controls for documentation accuracy.
• Train providers and staff to improve methodologies and data integrity.
