Shelter Insurance Companies seeks a Catastrophe Response Team Adjuster (Resident) to handle property damage claims from home, servicing the Louisville, KY area with regional travel as necessary. You will investigate, evaluate, and settle catastrophe claims, focusing on wind or hail, and determine claim value while negotiating settlements.

A Credit Bureau Report may be ordered for final candidates. Home office setup and company vehicle are provided.

Qualifications

• Investigative, analytical, organizational and decision-making skills.
• Ability to travel long distances and overnight when needed.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving history.
• High-speed internet access at residence.
• Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn through on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Handles insurance claims for property damage within an assigned region, traveling to other locations as needed.
• Investigates, analyzes, evaluates, and settles catastrophe claims, especially those involving wind or hail.
• Determines claim value, negotiates settlements, and ensures accurate claim handling.
