Job summary

Cardiac Study Center, Inc. is seeking a per diem Remote Triage Clinic RN to support our outpatient cardiology team via telephone triage, patient education, and results review. Training starts onsite in Olympia, with a transition to primarily remote work and occasional in-office attendance as needed.

Applicants must hold a WA RN license, have an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing, and BLS certification. Epic EMR experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone triage and clinical support to outpatient cardiology patients.
• Assess patient-reported symptoms and determine next steps.
• Educate patients on cardiovascular conditions, treatments, and follow-up instructions.
• Review test results and coordinate follow-up for abnormal findings.
• Support follow-up care for AFib, BP management, and post-procedure recovery.
• Document patient interactions and care coordination in the EMR.
• Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure timely, coordinated care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow safety/documentation standards.
• Contribute to workflow improvements to enhance access and quality of care.

Position Overview

We are seeking a per diem Registered Nurse to support our outpatient cardiology team through telephone triage, patient education, results review, and follow-up care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with providers and other members of the care team.

This position begins with onsite training at our Olympia clinic and transitions to primarily remote work after training is successfully completed. Occasional onsite attendance may be required based on operational or training needs.

• Provide telephone triage and clinical support to outpatient cardiology patients.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow established clinical, safety, and documentation standards.

Work Environment & Location

• Work arrangement: Primarily remote after completion of onsite training.
• Position Type: Per-Diem
• Training: Initial training will take place onsite at our Olympia clinic.
• Ongoing onsite needs: Occasional in-office attendance may be required.
• Location requirement: Candidates must reside in Washington State and be able to attend required onsite training and occasional in-person work.

Required Qualifications

• Active Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate degree or bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Comfort using electronic medical records and other clinical technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three or more years of nursing experience, particularly in telephone triage, outpatient care, or cardiovascular nursing.
• Experience with Epic or a comparable electronic medical record system.
• Experience coordinating patient follow-up, reviewing results, and communicating clinical recommendations under established protocols.
• Additional state nursing licenses, if applicable to the role.

Compensation

$43.68–$67.23 per hour, depending on qualifications and applicable compensation guidelines.
