Job summary

IKS Health is seeking a Profee Cardiology Medical Coder for remote work. You will provide outpatient coding and abstracting services using ICD-10-CM, CPS, and CPT coding systems for physician and ER records.

The role requires at least 3 years of professional fee cardiac coding experience, strong communication, and the ability to code EKGs and related clinic accounts. You will mentor staff and stay current with coding guidelines.

Qualifications

• CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA certifications required.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional fee cardiac coding experience.
• Must be able to code EKGs and other clinic accounts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding principles and guidelines, reimbursement systems, and payer-specific regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstracts information from the medical record per client guidelines after thorough review.
• Solicits clarification from the physician regarding ambiguous or conflicting documentation.
• Mentor training coders and/or new hires as needed.
• Maintains current knowledge of Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.
• Codes Clinic E&M and CPTs for assigned accounts.
• Knowledge of Echocardiograms, Remote Monitoring, and EKG coding.
