Virginia Heart is seeking a compassionate Telephone Triage Registered Nurse to provide primary clinical support for our clinical services center in a remote capacity.

The RN will respond to patient calls, triage concerns, assist with scheduling, document in the EMR, and support the provider team, ensuring a high-quality patient experience between visits.

This full-time role offers competitive wages and a strong benefits package with no night, weekend, or holiday shifts, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Registered Nurse program.
• Current Virginia State RN license or Compact State license with ability to work in Virginia.
• Full-time position commitment.
• 2–3 years of cardiac patient management experience preferred.
• Triage call center experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EPIC) preferred.
• Must pass prescribed competency exams before working independently.
• Must reside within 50 miles of work location.

Responsibilities

• Log in/out of the call center system per schedule.
• Answer triage phone calls courteously and promptly.
• Provide empathetic telephone service to patients and families; address questions or symptoms.
• Triages calls and elevates to providers as needed.
• Assist with appointment scheduling as required.
• Document patient interactions clearly in the EMR.
• Update patient demographics and medical history in the EMR.
• Meet service levels and efficiency goals; provide patient education.
• Inform patients of test results per protocol.
