Qualifications

• 3 months of post-secondary education/training in a cardiopulmonary related field (e.g., cardiac monitoring, EKG technology, Emergency medicine, nursing, exercise science)
• Graduation from accredited programs including EKG Interpretation: Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT, as applicable
• Minimum 2 years of recent healthcare work experience showing requisite knowledge and abilities

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient rhythms and oxygen saturation using cardio-pulmonary equipment; obtain baseline ECG strips and post them per guidelines
• Recognize rhythms with potential to alter physiology and report arrhythmias to RN per protocols
• Maintain knowledge of central monitoring station operations; manage alarms and troubleshoot routine problems; request maintenance as needed
• Handle incoming/outgoing communications and assist staff per procedures
• Provide accurate shift reports on patient condition and rhythm status at each shift change
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all parties involved
