Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is hiring a Capital Modeling Lead to develop internal economic capital models and analytics. You will work closely with risk, actuarial, investments, product, and FP&A teams to broaden the use of capital analytics across business decisions.

This remote-friendly role operates across the US, initially alongside external consultants, with potential to become the technical lead for an internal model. Strong analytics, communication, and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of related experience in P&C insurance economic capital modeling or related quantitative modeling.
• Ability to design or build stochastic models, not only operate existing ones.
• Strong understanding of Monte Carlo simulation, VaR/TVaR, dependencies, diversification, and capital attribution.
• Experience incorporating catastrophe-model output into capital models.
• Familiarity with reinsurance structures and investment/credit risk.
• Proficiency with Python or R and handling large datasets.
• Ability to communicate complex quantitative concepts to nontechnical leaders.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal economic capital modeling capabilities and reproduce/enhance existing ReMetrica-based models.
• Design and build stochastic models integrating underwriting, reserve, catastrophe, investment and risk factors.
• Evaluate VaR, TVaR, tail-risk and diversification methodologies.
• Provide business decision support and translate capital results into actionable insights.
• Establish model governance, validation, documentation, and version control.
