Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Capital Modeling Lead for P&C Insurance, primarily remote in the United States. The role focuses on developing CSAA’s internal economic capital modeling and analytics, expanding usage of capital analytics across risk, product, and finance teams.

The ideal candidate will design and build stochastic models, collaborate with Enterprise Risk Management, Actuarial, Reinsurance, Investments, and FP&A, and may eventually lead the internal capital model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of related experience in P&C insurance economic capital modeling or related quantitative modeling.
• Ability to design or build stochastic models beyond operating existing ones.
• Strong knowledge of Monte Carlo simulation, VaR/TVaR, dependency modeling and capital attribution.
• Understanding of P&C underwriting and reserve risk.
• Experience with catastrophe-model output in economic capital contexts.
• Familiarity with investment risk and credit risk within insurer balance sheets.
• Proficiency in Python or R and working with large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep technical understanding of CSAA's ReMetrica-based economic capital model.
• Independently reproduce, challenge, and improve model calculations and methodologies.
• Design and build stochastic economic capital models integrating underwriting, reserve, catastrophe, investment, credit, and reinsurance risks.
• Evaluate alternative approaches to VaR, TVaR, tail-risk measurement and diversification.
• Analyze dependency structures and correlations across risks and geographies.
• Perform sensitivity, scenario, stress, and parameter uncertainty analyses.
• Develop approaches for marginal and incremental capital analysis.
