Job summary

OpenTrain AI, Inc. seeks a part-time contractor to create expert demonstrations and evaluation data for CAD-focused AI training.

You will design realistic parametric CAD tasks in FreeCAD, record actions, and preserve relevant files, ensuring accurate mappings and repeatable workflows. Applicants should have strong mechanical design experience, FreeCAD mastery (Sketcher and Part Design), and the ability to review traces for realism and completeness, while working from remote locations with

Qualifications

Core experience in mechanical design, product development or manufacturing engineering.
Genuine proficiency in Sketcher and Part Design in FreeCAD.
Troubleshooting skills for constraint-solver failures and geometry issues.
Clear written English (B2 level or higher) for demonstrations and reviews.
Familiarity with multiple FreeCAD workbenches (e.g., Assembly, TechDraw, Draft, Spreadsheet, FEM, CAM/Path).
Ability to work with STEP/IGES/BREP/STL formats and mesh workflows.

Responsibilities

Create task briefs from drawings, parameters, assemblies and TechDraw sheets.
Build parts, sketches and FreeCAD deliverables while preserving engineering intent.
Record demonstrations and explain reproducible workflows in clear English.
