Job summary

Hansen and Company Woodworks (HCo 2.0) is seeking a Drafter/Designer (First Draw) to translate architectural drawings into build-ready shop drawings using Cabinet Vision. This fully remote role supports cross-functional collaboration with engineers, PMs, and production to ensure accuracy and constructability.

You will work from Saint Joseph, MN-based legacy and lead the front-end design, modeling, and documentation that drives downstream CNC programming and fabrication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on Cabinet Vision experience.
• Ability to read, interpret, and navigate architectural drawings.
• Understanding of design intent, construction logic, and system integration.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in commercial casework or millwork.
• Familiarity with production workflows and CNC-ready components.
• Experience with drafting tools like AutoCAD or Innergy.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate, complete shop drawings in Cabinet Vision based on architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Translate conceptual drawings into precise technical construction documents.
• Establish cabinet layouts, dimensions, clearances, and interfaces with adjacent trades.
• Ensure all components meet form, fit, and function requirements.
• Read, navigate, and interpret architectural plans, elevations, sections, finish schedules, and details.
• Review and adjust dimensions, materials, joinery, accessories, and hardware per company standards.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across all drawings within a project.
• Identify gaps, conflicts, or constructability risks and communicate them clearly.
• Collaborate remotely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Production teams to resolve questions and clarify scope.
• Communicate drawing assumptions, constraints, and decisions clearly using company tools.
• Respond promptly to feedback while maintaining drawing clarity and standards.
• The Drafter / Designer (First Draw) is a technical production role responsible for converting architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements into accurate, build-ready shop drawings using Cabinet Vision.
