Job summary

Waymark is seeking a Director of California Operations to lead local managers and patient-facing care teams across California, delivering on operational, clinical, and financial goals. You will mentor managers, drive metrics-driven improvements, and ensure high-quality care access and coordination for Medicaid patients.

You will report to the Regional VP and collaborate with providers and community organizations to strengthen partnerships and meet state goals in a fast-paced, remote-enabled

Qualifications

• 7+ years in healthcare/health services operations with patient-facing care teams.
• 3+ years people management experience, supervising managers or team leads.
• Demonstrated ability to manage operational performance, analyze data, and drive continuous improvement.
• Experience with budget oversight or financial management.
• Ability to travel frequently within the state to support local teams.
• Residence in California, preferably Sonoma/Orange or San Bernardino County.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of local managers to align with state-level goals.
• Assist local managers with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members.
• Own state performance by tracking and reporting on operational performance and translating strategy into actionable plans.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to local managers to foster high-performing culture.
• Oversee day-to-day performance of care teams in your region.
• Collaborate with national care support teams to relay regional needs and implement new workflows.
• Support regional VP, Partnerships and Implementation teams to launch new contracts in the state.
• Serve as a key contact for local providers and community organizations.
