Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a seasoned C++ engineer to design, build, and optimize high-performance data pipelines, annotation tooling, and evaluation systems for AI workloads. This is a fully remote hourly contract with 20–40 hours per week, offering challenging production-scale work and collaboration with research and engineering teams.

You’ll work on zero-copy data exchanges, binary serialization, and performance tuning across complex codebases, with emphasis on correctness and scalability.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade C++.
• Strong systems programming background with full-stack development experience.
• Expert-level knowledge of efficient binary serialization formats.
• Hands-on experience implementing zero-copy data exchange protocols in high-throughput environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance C++ systems supporting large-scale AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows.
• Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for data annotation, validation, and quality control.
• Implement efficient binary serialization formats and zero-copy data exchange protocols for high-speed pipelines.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, edge cases, and reliability issues across complex C++ codebases.
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation workflows.
• Participate in synchronous design reviews to iterate on system architecture and implementation decisions.
