Alignerr is seeking a seasoned C# Backend Developer to design and optimize data pipelines, annotation tooling, and evaluation systems powering AI labs. This fully remote hourly contract role offers 20-40 hours per week and collaboration with data, research, and engineering teams at the frontier of AI development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional C# experience.
• Full-stack developer with strong systems programming foundation.
• Data modeling and database access with ORM/micro-ORMs for high-performance SQL.
• Experience building secure, well-documented APIs.
• Able to commit reliably to 20-40 hours per week on an ongoing basis.
• Self-directed and comfortable working asynchronously in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance C# systems for AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows.
• Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for large-scale data annotation, validation, and quality control.
• Improve reliability, performance, and correctness across existing C# codebases.
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to accelerate model training and evaluation workflows.
• Identify bottlenecks and edge cases in data and system behavior and implement scalable fixes.
• Participate in synchronous design reviews to iterate on architecture and implementation decisions.
