Job summary

GCG Custom Engineered Solutions is seeking a Buyer to join the procurement team. You will plan and purchase raw materials for cable assembly operations, manage POs, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure on-time production and optimal inventory levels.

You will work with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and collaborate cross-functionally to drive cost efficiency and supplier performance while supporting production schedules and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, buyer, or materials planning in manufacturing.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle strongly preferred).
• Strong understanding of material planning, inventory control, and procurement processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and negotiation with internal teams and suppliers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard business apps.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from requisition through receipt, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Procure raw materials, MRO, and services at optimal cost, quality, and lead time.
• Monitor open orders and manage delivery schedules to prevent shortages.
• Review MRP outputs to plan inventory levels and establish safety stock.
• Balance inventory investment with service levels to support operations.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, obtain quotations, negotiate pricing and lead times.
• Maintain supplier relationships and participate in performance reviews.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain to align material availability.
• Resolve material issues including shortages, quality concerns, and discrepancies.
• Support cost reduction initiatives and data integrity in ERP systems.
