Position Summary
The Remote Business Development Officer isresponsible for generating and developing commercial lending opportunities withsmall business owners nationwide. This position focuses on businessdevelopment, relationship management, loan origination, market expansion, andidentifying financing solutions that meet the needs of small businessborrowers.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SBAlending and commercial finance, an established referral network, and aproven track record of generating significant annual loan production. TheBusiness Development Officer will manage opportunities from initial prospectingthrough application, underwriting, approval, closing, and funding.
Essential Job Functions
- OriginateSBA loans, equipment leasing, Asset-Based Lending (ABL), commercialreal estate, commercial construction, and other business financingtransactions for small businesses nationwide.
- Developand maintain relationships with small business owners, commercial brokers,CPAs, attorneys, financial professionals, and other referral partners.
- Generatenew business through networking, referrals, prospecting, industryrelationships, and other business development strategies.
- Developand expand market penetration within assigned markets and throughout thenationwide customer base.
- Identifythe financial needs of small business owners and recommend appropriatefinancing solutions.
- Developand execute business development and sales strategies to achieveestablished production goals.
- Generatequalified leads and guide prospective borrowers through the financingprocess.
- Preparecomplete financing applications and loan packages for submission tounderwriting.
- Analyzeborrower financial information and business needs to identify appropriatefinancing structures.
- Identifyqualified credit opportunities and work collaboratively with underwritingand credit teams to structure transactions.
- Presentqualified loan opportunities to the appropriate credit approval authority.
- Obtaincustomer-signed commitments following loan approval and coordinate closingand funding activities with internal operations teams.
- Maintainconsistent communication with borrowers and referral partners throughoutthe lending process.
- Build,manage, and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified lending opportunities.
- Maintainaccurate and timely pipeline, customer, and activity information in Salesforceor other CRM and loan origination systems.
- Monitormarket trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities within theSBA and commercial lending markets.
- Participatein networking events, industry conferences, customer meetings, and otherbusiness development activities.
- Achieveor exceed established annual loan production and revenue goals.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’sdegree in business, finance, economics, or a related field, or equivalentprofessional experience.
- Fiveor more years of sales experience in financial services, commerciallending, or a related industry.
- StrongSBA lending experience required.
- Demonstratedsuccess originating and closing SBA or commercial lending transactions.
- Provenability to develop and maintain an active referral network.

- Provensales ability serving the financial needs of small business owners.
- Demonstratedproduction history of $20 million or more in annual loan volume duringeach of the previous three years.
- Strongunderstanding of SBA lending and small business financing.
- Strongcommercial lending and credit skills.
- Workingknowledge of financial statements, cash flow analysis, debt servicecoverage, collateral, and loan structuring.
- Basicto advanced understanding of applicable SBA loan programs and lendingrequirements.
- Provenbusiness development and B2B sales skills.
- Strongrelationship management and customer acquisition abilities.
- Experiencewith marketing, prospecting, and risk management.
- Establishedreferral network preferred.
- Exceptionalinterpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strongpresentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Abilityto work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
- Strongorganizational and time-management skills with the ability to managemultiple transactions and priorities.
- Proficiencywith Salesforce, CRM platforms, loan origination systems, MicrosoftOffice, and related business technology.

Work Environment
This is a fully remote, nationwide position. TheBusiness Development Officer will work primarily from a home office and utilizevirtual communication, CRM, loan origination, and collaboration platforms toconduct business.
Periodic travel may be required for customer meetings,referral partner meetings, industry conferences, networking events, and otherbusiness development activities.
Compensation
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate withexperience, qualifications, production history, and the organization’scompensation structure. The position may include base salary and incentivecompensation based on individual production and performance.
