Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Home Based Fire and Life Safety Inspector to assess compliance of buildings with local and international codes across Commercial, Industrial, Residential, and Hospitality sectors. The role requires travel to client sites and strong interpretation of codes and drawings.

Candidates should hold ICC and Electrical Plans Examiner certifications and possess solid communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret building codes and identify non-compliant installations.
• Excellent verbal communication with customers.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Home Based Position – candidate near airport preferred due to travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings for fire and life safety and fire protection systems to determine code compliance.
• Inspect various sectors including Commercial, Industrial, Residential, and Hospitality.
• Read and interpret building codes, technical manuals, drawings, and specifications.
• Travel to meet building owners and managers and explain policies and procedures.
• Follow up to verify corrections of violations and ensure compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable codes and changes; attend trainings as appropriate.
• Adhere to the UL Code of Conduct and security practices.
• Perform other duties as directed.
