Job summary

WaTech seeks a Budget Analyst 4 to lead program budgeting and reporting for the WCSM Program. You will prepare monthly/quarterly financial status reports, forecast spending, and provide executive-level financial information. A strong background in state budgeting and advanced Excel are essential.

The role supports telework with onsite presence in Olympia, WA as required, and requires extensive collaboration with agency leadership and legislative staff.

Qualifications

• Nine years of professional budget development, execution and reporting experience.
• Four years of professional experience in public sector budgeting and accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, formulas like VLOOKUP, IF/SUMIF).
• Proactive learner and able to meet the needs of others.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the program’s budget analyst to executives and PMO leadership.
• Lead budget planning and forecast financial impacts aligned to priorities.
• Compile, analyze, and report on budget data and variances.
• Monitor spending, adjust projections, and maintain spending within budget.
• Develop monthly and quarterly financial status reports and other on-demand reports.
• Analyze legislative appropriations, reconcile funding and write fiscal notes.
• Present financial results to executives and program leadership.
