Job summary

SEH, an employee‑owned engineering firm, seeks a Horizontal Engineer – Structural/Bridge to join the Denver area team. You will support an established bridge design and inspection practice across Colorado and the Western U.S., employing varied materials and design software.

The role requires a PE license or Colorado/Arizona licensure in progress, strong structural fundamentals, and the ability to travel for field work and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering.
• PE license required or Colorado/Arizona licensure preferred.
• Experience with structural analysis and design software (Bentley OpenBridge, RISA, L-Pile).
• Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and CDOT/ADOT criteria.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of transportation structures (bridges, culverts, retaining walls, other).
• Prepare engineering reports and feasibility studies; assess existing structures.
• Conduct bridge and culvert inspections and load ratings.
• Develop structural calculations and load-rating packages using OpenBridge, RISA, L-Pile, and related tools.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, and contractors; review shop drawings and submittals.
• Travel to project sites within Colorado/Arizona; support field activities as needed.
