Job summary

Thimble Alterations LLC seeks experienced independent contractors to alter bridal and formalwear from home. You will handle wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom gowns, performing hems, bustles, fittings, and finishing touches.

Ideal candidates bring proven experience with bridal alterations, strong garment construction and precise measuring, plus machine and hand sewing skills and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge and precise measuring.
• Machine and hand sewing proficiency.
• Professional communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers).
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle).
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
• We also receive requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
