Job summary

Spitball Advertising is seeking a Freelance Brand Strategist to partner with our team on a project basis. You will source research, translate insights into compelling brand strategies, and help establish brand positioning to inspire great creative work.

The ideal candidate has 4–8 years of experience in brand strategy, agency or client-side in CPG, and excels at turning data into a simple strategic direction. This is a freelance, project-based role with remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in brand strategy or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing or conducting competitive, category and cultural research.
• Reviewing existing consumer research and identifying key insights and opportunities.
• Defining target audiences and consumer mindsets.
• Developing brand positioning, value propositions and messaging frameworks.
• Identifying brand opportunities, whitespace and points of differentiation.
• Developing strategic briefs for creative teams.
• Building brand strategy and presentation decks that tell a concise story.
• Collaborating with account, creative and client teams.
• Presenting strategic thinking to clients when appropriate.
