Job summary

HireHawk Inc. is seeking a Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of 5–10 clients and internal operations. This remote role emphasizes client-facing bookkeeping, accuracy, and timely payroll processing.

You will work with Account Managers, vendors, banks, and other third parties to ensure accurate financial records and efficient workflows. A minimum of 2 years in bookkeeping and strong QuickBooks experience are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on bookkeeping experience.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles (debits/credits, GL).
• Proficient in AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and GL maintenance.
• Excellent English communication and client-facing skills.
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience; Desktop is a plus.
• Experience with Canadian accounting standards is nice to have.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field is nice to have.
• CPA licensing is not required.

Responsibilities

• Own accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping for an assigned portfolio of 5–10 client accounts.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll for clients and internal operations.
• Record cash, AR, AP, inventory, revenue, expenses, and other financial transactions.
• Maintain complete and accurate general ledgers across multiple client accounts.
• Perform bank and GL reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Manage invoicing, deposits, collections, coding and revenue recognition.
• Process payroll accurately and on time with tax calculations.
• Support month-end close and prepare adjusting journal entries.
• Provide financial information to Account Managers for reporting and decision-making.
• Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, banks, and third parties.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems and workflows via technology.
