Job summary

Commence is seeking a Board Certified Gastroenterologist to remotely review cases for military members and their families. You must hold an active U.S. medical license, be currently practicing, and have at least 5 years of experience.

This is a fully remote, contract-based 1099 role with flexible workload and per-case compensation. The reviewer will assess medical necessity and quality of care while adhering to clinical guidelines, contributing to high‑quality oversight and timely case

Qualifications

• Active U.S. medical license required.
• Board certification in Gastroenterology by ABMS/AOA recognized board.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in the specialty.
• Currently practicing and seeing patients at least 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent, remote case reviews evaluating medical necessity, appropriateness, or quality of care.
• Provide evidence-based assessments and written determinations following established clinical guidelines and review criteria.
• Support case types including utilization review, appeals and hearings, and quality of care concerns.
• Uphold high standards of clinical integrity, neutrality, and objectivity.
