Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Biochemist — AI Data Trainer to join a fully remote, hourly-contract role. Bring your PhD-level biochemistry expertise to design and evaluate data used to train next-generation AI models. No prior AI experience is required.

You will work asynchronously 10–40 hours per week, collaborating with a global network of researchers to ensure scientific accuracy and robust biochemical reasoning in AI systems.

Qualifications

• PhD completed or in final stages in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology.
• Expertise in structural biology, enzymology, metabolism, bioinformatics, or pharmacology.
• Clear written communication of biochemical concepts.
• Detail-oriented with high precision in protocols and diagrams.
• Self-motivated and able to work asynchronously, remotely.
• No prior AI experience required.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging biochemistry problems to test AI performance.
• Build ground-truth solutions with step-by-step technical details.
• Audit AI outputs for accuracy, safety, and validity.
• Sharpen AI reasoning by identifying flawed mechanistic reasoning and providing feedback.
