Job summary

Norway Health Center in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a meticulous Billing Specialist/Administrator to oversee medical billing operations and support payroll processing. The role requires accuracy with insurance claims, patient billing, and confidential payroll data, reporting to the Clinic Administrator and leadership team.

Ideal candidates will have ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS knowledge, experience with EMR and HRIS systems, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding and medical billing regulations required.
• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance policies.
• Understanding of basic accounting and payroll principles.
• Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, HRIS software, and EHR systems required.

Responsibilities

• Billing & Accounts Receivable: review and resolve claim errors, manage aging AR, handle refunds, and verify insurance information.
• Payroll Processing & Administrative Support: process biweekly payroll, review timesheets, document PTO/holidays/overtime, assist with onboarding payroll setup, year-end W-2 coordination.
• Compliance & Documentation: HIPAA compliance, maintain EMR documentation, generate financial reports with leadership.
