Job summary

The Helmsman Group LLC is seeking a Customer Care Representative — Billing & Payments Support. This remote role handles inquiries about invoices, payments, and account balances, processes payments, and resolves billing issues with accuracy and security.

You will work with Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Finance to ensure timely, compliant resolution. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in billing or customer care, strong numeric and communication skills, and a solid understanding of payment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in customer service, billing support, accounts receivable, or related roles.
• Basic understanding of billing, payments, invoices, and account reconciliation.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Respond to invoices, balances, payment due dates, and methods.
• Explain charges, credits, discounts, and payment terms clearly.
• Review accounts and histories to investigate billing questions.
• Process authorized payments through approved systems.
• Assist with payment methods, arrangements, and recurring payments.
• Verify identity before discussing sensitive billing information.
• Investigate failed, declined, or missing payments.
• Handle refunds, credits, and billing adjustments per policy.
• Provide invoices, receipts, and payment confirmations to customers.
• Maintain accurate billing records in CRM and billing systems.
