Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Services Associate I to answer incoming calls and schedule Radiology appointments, while making outgoing calls to patients and physicians. The role emphasizes data accuracy, adherence to scripting, and high-quality customer service in a fast-paced medical office.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 6 months+ medical-related experience, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a busy clinic environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • 6 months+ of medical or related training and/or experience.
  • Computer literacy and experience with general office equipment required.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities, strong communication skills, ability to work well with physicians, patients, and coworkers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Takes incoming calls to schedule Radiology appointments and contacts patients and referring physician offices to schedule appointments.
  • Follows prescribed list of questions/scripts and provides standardized responses during scheduling/pre-registration.
  • Ensures gathering of accurate and complete patient data required to complete the scheduling process.
  • Enters all information into the applicable computer system in accordance with documented work processes.
  • Determines customers’ needs based on incoming calls and escalates calls as necessary to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Completes any additional job duties as assigned.
