Job summary

Linn-Benton Community College’s Albany Campus seeks a Bilingual Financial Aid Advisor who provides bilingual English/Spanish guidance to students, families, and agencies; analyzes policies; coordinates scholarship processes; and leads outreach and publications. Requires fluent English and Spanish, and an AA/AS with three years in financial aid or a BA/BS with one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree plus three years of full-time progressively responsible work experience, two in student financial aid or related field; or a BA/BS with one year related experience.
• Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish are required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates financial aid applications using federal methodology to assess need and accuracy.
• Conducts verification and fraud prevention reviews and resolves DOE rejects.
• Packages offers using Banner and verifies eligibility across NSLDS, COD, and OSAC portals.
• Advises students and families on aid options, processes, and deadlines in English and/or Spanish.
• Updates publications to ensure bilingual accessibility and compliance.
• Administrates federal and state aid programs and coordinates Degree Partnership Program.
• Evaluates SAP appeals and assists with policy interpretation and complex cases.
• Delivers FAFSA and aid procedures presentations to high school seniors and families.
