Job summary

Cars Commerce seeks a BI Analyst - Semantic Layer to own the business content that sits on our governed semantic layer. You will define metrics, dimensions, and glossary terms as code, and work directly with analytics, data engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure consistency and trust in metrics across platforms.

You will govern the end-to-end metric lifecycle, maintain Atlan glossary content, and ensure definitions stay aligned as the business evolves.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of analytics engineering, BI, or data governance with hands‑on SQL experience.
• Hands‑on authoring and maintaining models in a semantic layer (e.g., dbt Semantic Layer/LookML).
• Strong dimensional modeling fundamentals (star schema, SCD).
• Experience running metric/governance processes with business stakeholders.
• Experience with a data catalog glossary tool (Atlan/Collibra/Alation).
• Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Author and maintain semantic layer definitions as code.
• Own the metric definition lifecycle from request to publication and deprecation.
• Maintain glossary terms and governance tagging for accuracy across platforms.
• Audit and reconcile definitional drift across tools and reports.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and align KPIs and metrics.
