Qualifications

• 3+ years in healthcare insurance eligibility or benefits verification.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and/or commercial plans.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience communicating with insurance payers.
• Prior authorization experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR platforms.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility, coverage, benefits and patient financial responsibility.
• Review information and determine steps for verification and authorization.
• Obtain and follow up on insurance authorizations as required.
• Work with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial plans.
• Contact carriers to verify benefits and resolve issues.
• Document authorization and insurance details in the EMR.
• Monitor workflows and ensure items are resolved promptly.
• Handle high volumes with accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
• Collaborate with teammates and adapt to changing priorities.
