Job summary

Optima Medical is seeking a Behavioral Health Medical Assistant to support our telemedicine psychiatric providers. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, due diligence, and a passion for helping others.

This remote role involves coordinating virtual visits, managing records, and ensuring a smooth telehealth experience. Qualifications include CMA or RMA certification, 1+ year in behavioral health or telemedicine, and proficiency with eClinicalWorks.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is required.
• Minimum 1 year of behavioral health, telemedicine, or outpatient care experience.
• Proficiency with eClinicalWorks EMR is preferred.
• Strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills are essential.
• Must reside in NV and have HS diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for virtual appointments by confirming demographics and visit details.
• Document health information and behavioral health screenings.
• Conduct safety assessments for suicidality and crisis intervention as needed.
• Support psychiatric providers during telehealth visits with documentation.
• Maintain patient records in eCW and manage workflows.
• Assist with medication refills, lab orders, and prior authorizations.
• Coordinate follow-ups, reminders, referrals, and care coordination.
• Manage cancellation lists to keep provider schedules full.
• Provide patient education and timely communication about care plans.
• Handle incoming calls and text messages from the main line.
