Job summary

Presbyterian Medical Services is seeking a Remote Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator to serve as the first contact for individuals seeking behavioral health services. You will perform psychosocial assessments, provide crisis intervention, and coordinate referrals to connect clients with appropriate care and resources.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university (Required).
• Current independent New Mexico licensure as LPCC, LISW, LCSW, LMFT, or LPAT (Required).
• Minimum of three years in mental health; at least one year in intake/triage (Required).
• Residence in NM or TX (Required).
• Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, including mental status examinations and diagnostic evaluations.
• Determine medical necessity and appropriate levels of behavioral health care.
• Provide crisis intervention, triage services, and short-term support during urgent situations.
• Coordinate referrals to internal and external behavioral health and community resources.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for new client inquiries and service requests.
• Complete intake screenings, registration processes, and required documentation.
• Provide active case management and follow-up to ensure successful connection to services.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and support positive client outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
• Participate in outreach, community education, and performance improvement activities.
