Job summary

Big Leap Health is seeking a detail-oriented contractor to audit coded claims against clinical documentation, catching patterns that create compliance risk. Initially you may perform direct coding as our internal tool matures, with auditing becoming the primary focus.

  • Ability to explain documentation issues clearly to providers.
  • Reliable, self-directed, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Audit coded claims against underlying clinical documentation to identify unsupported codes, documentation gaps, and recurring errors.
  • Code claims directly as needed, while focusing on auditing activities over time.
  • Flag documentation patterns with specificity to support clinician-facing feedback.
  • Respond to payer audits and manage documentation requests with Head of RCM.
  • Support MIPS/QPP eligibility reviews for the provider portfolio.
  • Escalate unclear or exception cases and maintain audit records.
