Job summary

Optum is actively seeking a Behavioral Health Advocate in Terre Haute, IN to coordinate care for individuals with Behavioral Health and SUD needs. This role includes remote work most days, with up to 25% of the time in the community visiting members in hospitals, facilities, or homes.

Required licensure in Indiana (mental health clinician or psychiatric RN) and 2+ years of post-licensure experience. Strong data entry skills and access to reliable transportation are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Active Indiana license (mental health clinician) required or RN with psychiatric specialty.
• 2+ years post-licensure experience in mental health settings.
• Ability to enter and retrieve data in electronic health records (EHR).
• Access to reliable transportation and travel within service area (up to 25%).
• Live in or near Terre Haute, IN.

Responsibilities

• Engage consumers with recovery and wellness approaches.
• Coordinate psychiatric, medical, and psychosocial referrals.
• Remove barriers to service access and participation.
• Provide follow-up and education in person or by phone.
• Meet consumers in facilities, offices, or homes.
• Collaborate with external providers to meet complex needs.
• Attend meetings to review performance and improvements.
• Support medical-behavioral integration activities.
• Coordinate transition from inpatient to community-based services.
• Comply with policies and documentation standards.
