Job summary

Gainwell Technologies seeks a Batch Developer (LINUX/C/SQL) to contribute to healthcare-focused technology solutions for clients across the United States. This role emphasizes developing, testing, and documenting batch programs within IBM Workload Scheduler and related systems.

You will work on production support, data analysis, and system enhancements, with a fully remote setup and occasional travel. A strong background in C, Linux, SQL, and batch processes is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Applications Development and Programming experience with C, Linux, job scripts/streams, SQL, and IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS).
• Experience with Resolving Cycle Abends and Debugging Batch Code.
• Solid SQL/data analysis skills for troubleshooting and validation.
• Comfortable supporting production issues, defect analysis, data investigation and end-to-end testing.
• Pharmacy or Healthcare Systems (NCPDP – D.0, EDI transactions) are desired.
• Experience with Mainframe (COBOL) or Legacy Systems is desired.

Responsibilities

• Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents programs.
• Assists in modifying products and systems to meet client needs.
• Gathers system information, analyzes requirements, and documents changes.
• Researches and analyzes existing systems under supervision.
• Designs programs for projects or enhancements.
• Writes specifications for moderate complexity programs.
• Assists in resolving production support problems and suggests alternatives.
• Develops test plans and verifies logic for new/modified programs.
• Creates documentation in code and technical docs.
• Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews.
• Keeps up with industry trends to maintain skills.
