Job summary

AuraOne, Inc. is seeking a Backend Security Engineer for a remote contractor track. You will evaluate production code, debug traces, and assess developer-facing AI outputs against real-world correctness standards.

Reproduce failures, write the unit test the model should have written, and explain fixes for the modeling team. Responsibilities include running code in sandboxed environments, grading solutions for correctness and edge cases, and documenting recurring failures to target improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong day-job engineering experience and ability to read, run, and debug unfamiliar code for Backend Security Engineer work.
• Clear written reasoning in review notes to convince senior engineers.
• Familiarity with a testing framework (pytest, Jest, JUnit, Go test, RSpec, etc.).
• Ability to write concise unit tests that capture a single failure mode.
• Reliable async availability for at least 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Run and reproduce candidate code outputs in a sandboxed environment for Backend Security Engineer assignments.
• Grade backend engineering solutions for correctness, style, and edge-case handling.
• Write minimal failing tests to demonstrate bugs the model output missed.
• Compare paired solutions and provide a rationale tied to the rubric.
• Tag failure modes with severity scores and document recurring issues.
