Job summary

Accessiway seeks a Backend Developer to design and build scalable backend services that power digital accessibility for millions. You will work on Lambda, ECS-hosted services, and REST APIs behind API Gateway in TypeScript, with event-driven workflows and AWS-based infrastructure.

You'll optimize PostgreSQL schemas, work with DynamoDB, and contribute to IaC via AWS CDK. A proactive, technically curious mindset is essential to thrive in our hybrid setup with a diverse, international team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend experience shipping production Node.js services.
• Fluent TypeScript (server-side) with clean, well-typed code.
• Hands-on AWS experience with core services (Lambda, SQS/SNS, ECS, API Gateway).
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge and query optimization.
• Comfort with distributed systems, async messaging and complex integrations.
• Proactive ownership mindset and ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver robust, scalable backend services.
• Develop Lambda functions, ECS-hosted services, and REST APIs behind API Gateway.
• Implement event-driven workflows using SNS/SQS.
• Manage containers with Docker and deploy via ECS/ECR.
• Shape data models in Aurora PostgreSQL and DynamoDB; optimize schemas.
