Job summary

Reddit is hiring for a role on the PDP Experience team, focusing on high-traffic Comments pages. You will drive technical & product strategy, architecture, and execution across a large-scale platform, collaborating with product, design, and engineering to ship novel features.

You’ll design APIs, participate in full development cycles, and contribute to team strategy while maintaining balance between speed and quality in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of post-internship, full-time, hands-on, professional software development experience in large-scale distributed systems.
• 3+ years of software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages; Go, Python, Rust, Ruby.
• Experienced with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift or gRPC basics, and the ability to design and implement maintainable APIs.
• Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.
• Entrepreneurial spirit. You are self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute on product and business strategy and build novel products and features.
• Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Contribute meaningfully to team strategy and planning for the future.
• Participate with a team of thoughtful, fast-moving, and motivated engineers and improve developer workflows.
• Move fast while balancing quality and avoid show-stopping bugs.
• Continuously learn and improve your technical and non-technical abilities.
